Mangere MountainMangere Mountain is one of the largest and best preserved of Auckland’s volcanic cones, with a peak 106 metres above sea level. It was the site of a major Maori pa and many of the pa's earthworks are still obvious, with many archaeological features remaining, including kumara pits, garden terraces, walled garden mounds and stone boundary walls. The summit offers spectacular panoramic views of Auckland.
Strawberry FarmBest enjoyed during the Summer months, Mangere’s iconic Strawberry Farm is a local favourite at 127 Kirkbride Rd, Mangere – just up the road from the nearby Airport Hotels. With real-fruit ice creams made before your eyes, this spot is very busy in the summer months, however the queues to get ice-cream and farm-fresh produce are fast-moving with six lines going at once.
